Welcome to the Coppell North Middle School Band Program!

North Band Music StandUPDATE (9/19/2013):  The Coppell Middle School North Cougar Band was again selected as a Commended Winner in the National Wind Band Honors Project. The award is presented to the North Band by The National Foundation for Music Education. Earning such a commendation is among the VERY HIGHEST achievements any band could earn in the United States. Congratulations go to all Cougar Band members, their families and our Private Lesson Staff for their commitment to learning how to play music at such a remarkable level!

The CMSN Band was once again selected as the Texas State Honor Band out of the top honor finalists in the state of Texas. The Honor Band competition began back in June 2011 as bands from across the state competed at the District, Region and Area levels of competition. For a band to advance to the next level of competition, it had to be selected as the first or second place band at each level. The CMSN Band was selected as the 1st Place Region Honor Band and the 2nd Place Area Honor Band prior to being selected as the Texas State Honor Band in July 2011.

To compete and win the title of Texas State Honor band is the highest level of achievement and award from the state of Texas for a school band program, its parent campus, and its school district. This designation is a continuation of the growth and success of the instrumental music program at CMSN. Previous honor designations include 2009 2nd Place Texas State Honor Band, 2009 Winner - National Wind Band Honors Project, and 2007 1st Place Texas State Honor Band.

The band presented a full hour of concert literature as the State Honor Band. This prestigious performance was held at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio in February 2012.

New 8th GRADERS, this is your year to shine! The 8th grade leadership is always the main reason we are successful and enjoy the reputation of being the best middle school band around! 8th graders, we challenge you to make this next year unbeatable, unbelievable, and to leave a lasting tradition that will be hard to match for classes of the future.

New 7th graders, GET BUSY! You have a hefty reputation to fill already, and you will be required to rise to the occasion and fill the shoes of incredible band members. The band is the largest in the history of North and is the largest middle school band anywhere in this area of Texas! We have so many neat things planned for you in addition to the performances, concerts, football games, contests, parties, dances; it will be a fun-filled and very rewarding year!
